Terms of Service — We IBD

Last updated: July 19, 2026 · Effective: July 19, 2026

We IBD is a personal self-tracking journal for people living with inflammatory bowel disease and related conditions. It is not a medical device, does not provide a diagnosis, and does not replace professional medical advice (see §7).

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using We IBD (the “App”), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. The App is operated by wewe (Werner Masseglia), Rue d'en haut 33, 7830 Silly, Belgium. You must be at least 13 (or have a guardian's consent). We may update these Terms and will post a notice in the App.

2. License & restrictions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial health-tracking. You may not reverse engineer, copy, resell, sublicense, disrupt, or misuse the App, or use it unlawfully. The App is licensed, not sold.

3. Intellectual property

The App's design, text, icons and code are owned by us or our licensors. The clinical frameworks the App references for self-observation (e.g. the Bristol scale and disease-activity indices) belong to their respective authors. “We IBD” and “wewe” are our trademarks. Feedback you send may be used by us freely.

4. Your data

The health information you enter is yours and stays on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy. We operate no backend and hold no copy of your health data; you are responsible for your own backups (e.g. via your device backup or optional iCloud sync) and can export or erase your data at any time from within the App.

5. In-app purchases

We IBD offers a free tier (supported by ads) and an optional Premium subscription that removes ads and unlocks the deeper analysis, configurable reports and proactive alerts. The subscription auto-renews unless cancelled; you can manage or cancel it anytime in your Apple account settings. The current price and billing period are shown by Apple at the point of purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's terms; refunds are handled by Apple. Eligible purchases can be restored via “Restore Purchases”.

6. Acceptable use

Use the App responsibly and lawfully. You are solely responsible for decisions about your health and treatment (see §7). We may limit access for violations, fraud, or harmful conduct.

7. Health disclaimer & “as is”

We IBD is a self-tracking aid, not a medical device. Its indicators and reports are built only from the data you enter and are meant to help you observe patterns and prepare consultations — they do not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and are not medical advice. Only your doctor or a qualified professional can advise on your health. Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something in the App, and seek help promptly if your condition worsens. THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for any health decision made on the basis of the App; our total liability shall not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the prior 12 months or €50. Nothing limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from claims arising from your use of the App or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

10. Third-party services

The App uses Apple (distribution & purchases) and, in the free version, Google AdMob (ads; removable via Premium and isolated from your health data). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access for violations or if the App is discontinued. Sections 3, 7, 8, 9 and 12 survive.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Please contact us first to resolve any dispute. Competent courts: Belgium. EU consumers keep their mandatory statutory rights and may use the EU ODR platform.

13. Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and We IBD, not Apple. We are solely responsible for the App, maintenance, support and warranties; Apple may refund the purchase price in case of a warranty failure. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these Terms.
